Gallagher and Burk is a local grading and paving contractor and asphalt producer that has been performing work in the Oakland and East Bay area since the 1920's. In January 1998, Gallagher and Burk was purchased by Oliver de Silva, Inc. Oliver de Silva, Inc. continued to operate Gallagher and Burk as an independent company serving customers in Oakland and the surrounding area. It has performed work for clients such as The Port of Oakland (maritime and aviation), the City of Oakland, Matson Terminals, Sea Land Terminals, Southern Pacific Railroad, and Union Pacific Railroad. Gallagher and Burk has supplied most of the asphalt concrete that has been placed at the Port of Oakland in recent years and has performed much of this work with its own paving and grading forces.

Dumbarton Quarry Associates produces asphalt concrete and construction aggregates in Santa Clara, Alameda and Solano Counties. It is the largest producer of Asphalt Concrete in the Bay Area at nearly 1.5 million tons annually. This year, the five quarries and three Asphalt Concrete plants produced over 3 million tons of aggregate products and over 1 million cubic yards of engineered fill.
